About us
The Jupiters Casino Community Benefit Fund (JCCBF) was created by Parliament under the Casino Control Act 1982. Under this Act, the Jupiters Casino on the Gold Coast pays the Queensland Government a levy of 1% of its gross revenue. Monies began accruing to the Fund in November 1985 when Jupiters Casino opened, with the first grants being allocated in February 1987.
Since 1 September 1995, the JCCBF has also administered the 1% community benefit paid by the Conrad Treasury Casino in Brisbane. These levies are held in Trust by the Queensland Government and are distributed by JCCBF through grants to not-for-profit incorporated community organisations for projects which will be of benefit to the wider community located within the funding jurisdiction. The JCCBF's jurisdiction is from the Queensland and New South Wales border to the northern boundaries of the Shires of Boulia, Winton, Aramac, Belyando and Broadsound. For further information see-Jurisdiction map.
As at the quarter ending 31 May 2008, 2967 grants have been approved by the JCCBF totalling over $73 million.
